Mark Portelli

Mark Portelli was appointed executive director on the 5 October 2020. He has occupied the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MIDI plc since 1 September 2017 having previously served as a non-executive director of the Company as well as a member of the Audit Committee from June 2015 to June 2017.

He is a graduate from the University of Manchester and a Member of the Institute  of Chartered Accountants in the UK. He has served as a board member of several companies and public entities. Between 2002 and 2013 he served as Executive Chairman of Malta Freeport Corporation and he also served as Chairman of the Grand Harbour Regeneration Corporation between 2007 and 2013.

Jesmond Micallef

Jesmond Micallef first worked at MIDI between 2002 and 2009 in the role of Management Accountant. He then re-joined MIDI in 2011 in his current role as Chief Financial Officer. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and also holds the designation of Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). He also holds an MSc in Management Accounting, Internal Auditing and IT Systems obtained from ESC Lille. Mr Micallef has held management positions within a number of companies in the beverage, construction, educational and information technology industries.

Ivan Piccinino

Perit Ivan Piccinino graduated as an architect and civil engineer from the University of Malta in 1995. His first working experience in the construction industry was as a structural engineer in the Malta Hilton and Portomaso project in St Julians. 

In 2003, Perit Piccinino was engaged by a Project Management firm entrusted to manage the Tigne Point and Manoel Island project. Having a structural background, Ivan's initial role was to project manage the construction & restoration phases of the project, a role which he fulfilled up to 2011, and which included, amongst others, the construction of the Tigné South blocks, the completion and handing over of the Tigné link road and the Tigné residents pool facility.

In 2011, Perit Piccinino was appointed Senior Project Manager of the Company, a position which he still fulfills to the present day. Ivan's main role is now to drive the Company's projects to be completed on time, within budget and to the expected quality levels. His experience on previous roles and projects, is an asset to enable him and his team to achieve the desirable results.
